Dr. Chandra Bhushan

Dr. Chandra Bhushan is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon in Hyderabad, currently attached to Global Hospitals and Vijaya Health Care. His areas of specialisation include knee joint replacement, ligament reconstruction, keyhole surgery and deformity correction. Dr. Bhushan received superspeciality training in knee and hip joint replacements, and also has vast experience and expertise in fracture fixation and trauma surgery.

Dr. Chandra Bhushan completed his MBBS and MS (Ortho) from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad. He worked as Civil Assistant Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at Osmania General Hospital and Medical College, Hyderabad, from 1984 to 1990. He was sponsored by his department to undergo advanced training in orthopaedic surgery under the Overseas Doctors Training Scheme (ODTS) of the Royal College of Surgeons, England. As part of the ODTS programme, Dr. Bhushan worked as Registrar in Orthopaedics at several hospitals in the United Kingdom from 1991 to 1995. On his return to India he worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Vijaya Health Care and other hospitals in Hyderabad. He joined Global Hospitals in 2003.

Dr. Chandra Bhushan designed and developed a "Hip Targeting Device" for percutaneous pinning of the head of the femur and applied for UK patent rights in 1994. He is adept at computer graphics, especially 3D animation, and developed a 3D animated model of the human body for MEdRC in 2007. He is co-author of a book titled "Step by Step Trauma Management".
